Soft And Bio-Inspired Prosthesis With Haptic Feedback (Master's Thesis)

This project (Masters thesis) focuses on the transition between conventional robotics to more soft and compliant designs with a focus on designing of an hand using these concepts. It aims to provide a definitive proof that taking a bio-inspired approach to designing of robots makes them naturally more person-compatible. The thesis focuses on two aspects- first is the design of a biologically inspired prosthetic hand; second is the design of a haptic feedback system which sends data from object touches back to the user. The objective of the research is to bridge the gap between conventional prosthesis and the functioning of the human control system.
